I started in the jewellery business in the mid seventies, doing my training with the Silver family at Raymond Brett Jewellery Wholesalers. I started off as a jewellery workshop bench hand and worked my way up to be the workshop manager, controlling all aspects of the position. Things like, lost wax casting, Gold, Silver and Gemstone purchasing, cutting and polishing New Zealand Greenstone ( Nephrite Jade ), Gemstone setting, and designing a new range of Jewellery for this company, as well as keeping the rest of the bench hands under control.

Mr Silver senior ( Nevis) had an interest in Gemmology and inspired me to take formal studies in Gemmology with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, and in 1980 after two years of study and passing their exams, became a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (FGA). This is a prestigious qualification, with only a small number of members around the world. The training in these fields I still use today in my Jewellery design and manufacture.

In 1982 I formed my Jewellery Company. Manufacturing a range of jewellery that I wholesaled to jewellery shops around New Zealand.

Below is a small selection of pieces from this range, designed and made by me. All are made from 9ct yellow gold or Sterling Silver. The earrings also have 9ct gold or sterling silver posts (the bit that goes through the ear) and 9ct gold or sterling silver scrolls or butterfly backs. The 9ct gold pendants have gold covered chains, (gold chains can be supplied on request) and the sterling silver pendants have sterling silver chains. I have displayed them on some Kerr Farm corks to give you an idea of size.

All the gemstones are natural, except for the cubic zirconia, which is a very good Diamond simulant.
